Just use Firefox Sync then.
I would love to use Firefox on Android but because of this issue 1888025 I can’t use it.
That being sad, I do have cromite and brave installed. I use both for different reasons but mostly Cromite for daily use.
How is that an issue ?
I opened this issue 1964364 which makes mastodon, X, bluesky and so on have a very slow scrolling. They’ve said that my issue was related to issue 1888025.
I don’t really like to have an application installed for a website that I can run on my browser so I tend to use my browser for a lot of websites that have an app for android.
Even scrolling inside a code in GitHub makes the scrolling experience bad.
Maybe that sounds ridiculous but it’s just the way I normally use my phone and works on every chromium browser just not on firefox and on any of its forks
Mull is no longer maintained. You should seriously use something else.
Firefox and Brave on desktop
Android has Firefox Focus and Brave
Bookmarks: Floccus to Webdav space I have. The dev has an Android app for bookmarks - there’s no way he can sync them to mobile browsers. Floccus works fine on desktops and I take weekly bookmark backups.
I see, I often use GitHub on IF and have no problem, but trust you on social media scrolling.
Ironfox + Cromite + Vanadium + Fenex
Ironfox syncs with LibreWolf through a Mozilla account. These are my main browsers, they delete browsing data on exit.
Firefox on Fedora and Brave on Android are my signed-in browsers. These browsers visit a limited number of sites so I don’t need them to sync.
I just gave in the end
made an account and syncing my bookmarks and transferred to Ironfox.
Honestly the fact that it is seamless to import data on desktop without an account but never on Mobile baffles me alot.
And that’s the reason I’m keeping it, who knows what happens with Ironfox.
I use Vanadium on Grapheneos and LibreWolf on the linux desktop with bookmarks synced by Xbrowsersync (available in f-droid) This setup has been flawless
I use Brave, for now. Chromium base gets the job done in terms of security, and it has excellent content blocking too.
P.S. @SkewedZeppelin Do I take it Mull has been discontinued indefinitely? If so, sorry about what happened, and thank you very much for all your work on it. That was the browser I used on Android for a long time, before Divest closed.
yes Mull is discontinued indefinitely.
You should upgrade to something like Ironfox if so desired to keep using something like Mull
Thanks everyone for all the insights! I think I’ll just download Brave for non-bookmarks stuff and use Firefox for my bookmarks.
From my understanding, if you use uBO hard-mode, it indirectly addresses this, as you choose which script is run. Am I wrong here? I could be totally wrong.
Does Firefox Focus do more then just configuring regular Firefox? I already have the habit to click on exit (and have the setting to clear everything on exit).
You should read up on it. It’s essentially a slimmed down Firefox and it always forgets it’s cookies and temporary storage. Or if you hit the trash can in the UI.
I don’t think it’s seeing active development at Mozilla, but the app does get an occasional bug or security update. Last update was June 9, so last week. APKs are available for Obtanium users.
Thanks, I just read about it. It seems similar to what LibreWolf does on Desktop, but for Android, i.e.: an out of the box private browser.
I’ll stick with Firefox, as it has more features and if you go through the settings, it has the same options as Firefox Focus. But good to know it exists to recommend to friends.
