USB to SATA adapter can store passwords?

Im looking to plug some HDD into a laptop with USB but now I was thinking, what if those chips inside the adapters are capable of storing keystrokes? they could get your password. I mean it’s just some chinese brand we don’t know about, all of them are, so what do you do there?

Another concern is static electricity or touching the drive while using, since it has no enclosure. I guess there are some that have enclosures. But anyway, this is the relevant part:

Plus the chips and so on included.

no.
they cannot get your password.

I don’t need 2 bays. What is the difference between these 2?

The design im not sure about in any case, I mean sounds like type of thing you accidentally smack, goes out of balance and lands in the floor.
Perhaps one of these:

or if you don’t want it as closed for better temps

Btw, something really lame I keep hearing is how they have built in hibernation mode, and im not sure you can turn that off, and that means problems specially when working with encryed drives, so something to consider there.

that is just typical drive spin-down, it won’t cause any issue
