Ubuntu interim (non-LTS) - is it ok for security?

Does it come close to Fedora in terms of security? I know that Ubuntu is not recommended here but i guess the general talk is about LTS. What about interim?

Besides bleeding-edge distros like Arch, Fedora is the closest you can get to have the latest packages and software updates without compromising on stability.

Ubuntu has a completely different release cycle and is more conservative with updates. Even with interim where releases are every 6 months or so.

If you’re asking in general, this was already addressed.

A new version of Ubuntu comes out roughly every 6 months when you include the latest interim and LTS releases, which is the same as Fedora. This should mean it’s similar to Fedora’s faster release cycle, though there are various other factors that could influence how true that is. But as mentioned in the linked discussion, Fedora still offers greater privacy and security even if Ubuntu’s release cycle matched Fedora’s.
