There are no authoritative home servers for uBlock Origin:
Therefore and in conclusion, the aforementioned and other uBlock Origin websites are not officially affiliated with the web extension.
Maybe I did not make myself clear: I do know it’s unofficial, but am indignant at the way the site is build up. Especially the fake photo.
Objectively, I think you might want to reword your question and the threat title to make it more obvious that it’s a fake app:
uBlock Origin is not a fake app. The only occurance of “fake” being mentioned in the topic is regarding the claimed photo of Raymond Hill, not the website nor web extension itself.
This is clearly not a legitimate application and certainly not related to the uBlock Origin extension. I don’t think it’s a good idea to post every weird scam site you find that might be piggybacking off the name of a legitimate project to forums like this as you are only increasing the visibility it has and thus the likelihood that someone will come across it without seeing the context and fall victim to it.
I don’t understand what you were looking to get out of this thread.
There is no application being discussed here. The issue is the that topic title is ambiguous and can be easily interpreted as uBlock Origin being an application, but is actually referring to the TLD of the website.
What? The title plus users making unclear comments is not helping this thread at all.
Is obviously a scam website.
uBlock Origin is a web extension, but @naibed is claiming that it is a fake app:
Please reread the OP, you are mistaken
I already read and addressed it earlier in this topic.
uBlock Origin isn’t an app, it’s a web extension. Thus anything claiming to be an app must be fake unless it isn’t. We don’t believe uBlock Origin has a standalone app at this time.
To further complicate this, there is an official Ublock Origin Lite application for iOS now. So while the discussed website in this topic is more than likely fake, I would be concerned that it is attempting to distribute fake/or malicious versions of the Ublock Origin web extension or Ublock Origin lite application.
Thank you, I am aware.
This is false. The OP is referencing a website about an app calling itself “uBlock Origin App” which is a scam. That is what is being discussed here.
I see nothing like that on the website, care to share a screenshot?
Are you saying you think the website the OP referenced is legitimate?
I am requesting evidence of your claim of the website claiming a “uBlock Origin App”.
It is a website called “uBlock Origin App”. Are you trolling?
The website is not called that, and you have not provided any evidence that an app calling itself “uBlock Origin App” is referenced on the website.
