They merely refused to share it, right? If they want they could since Discord does not offer end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for its messages only for video and calls, if I’m not mistaken.
I mean, they will probably collaborate with the government demand to get their user basis growing.
Yes. Simply, they haven’t cooperated with the government. They should’ve given all the requested information, this is coming from a Turkish citizen who prioritizes privacy & freedom.

Recently, in Istanbul, 2 (19 y.o) girls were brutally murdered by a guy who’s the same age. And some people on Discord started speaking about these murders, saying that they will also kill babies in a few days (that was said on Telegram, but nonetheless it’s the same guys) and sharing videos of animal abuse. They’re also considered terrorists, not because they are actually related to any terrorist organisation, but they literally doxx underaged girls or anyone, and this is considered as terrorism in Türkiye… After doxxing them, they want them to send their nudes or they’ll send police to their house (since they know everything about them, which is because of a masive citizenship data leak that anyone with access to the “panels” (basically the gui) can just get all of the information, like the house adress, TC (ID number), phone numbers, information related to their relatives etc. by just searching their name and surnames.) After underaged girls send any nudes, they would take it to the next step and asking the girls to harm theirselves WHILE they record these and share it in their groups. This was a thing like for 3-4~ years, but got wildly spreaded after they made fun of the murder of these 2 girls and they threatened to murder more woman/babies/animals.
Note: There’s more to it, but I don’t want to type all the things these guys were doing over the last few years.

Do we have any proof the ban is actually related to those crimes?
