Short description
As described on the Community Contributions page of the Syncthing documentation, Syncthing-Fork is an “alternative wrapper app for the Syncthing binary with extended functionality.”
Why I think this tool should be added
As reported in another thread, syncthing-android, which is linked as the download for Android on the Syncthing listing, is discontinued. Since Syncthing-Fork is listed alongside syncthing-android as a community-contributed package, and a community member here shared their positive experience with it, it might be worth listing as the replacement Android download link for the Syncthing card.
Since this thread shows up when searching for Syncthing, it’s worth mentioning here as well that:
The old maintainer, Catfriend1, has left the project.
The handover to the new maintainer, Researchxxl, was incredibly poorly managed.
Researchxxl has pretty much ignored all community requests for clarification.
The maintainer of the Play Store version, Nel0x, has therefore decided to extend their fork to build and maintain the whole thing. If you want to use Syncthing for Android, this is probably the version to use at the moment of writing.
