Cake Wallet supports multiple cryptocurrencies. A Monero-only version of Cake Wallet for iOS and Android is available at Monero.com.
However, I see no reason to recommend Cake Wallet at all when the only cryptocurrency we recommend is Monero anyways. Recommending Monero.com exclusively will prevent people from accidentally using other cryptocurrencies (and reduce attack surface, presumably).
I kinda see the point, but privacy is a balance right ? I don’t know enough, but it seems that most vendor does not accept monero. Its also a banned coin, which makes trading harder. They would require a different coin (litecoin, bitcoin, usdc). At this point why not support those others in order to be able to purchase something ? Sure there are instant exchanges that can be used to send to the destination, but why not support it straight in the app?
Is Cake Wallet supports Monero, and doesn’t have known vulnerabilities, and doesn’t have a UX to accidentally not use Monero, I’m not sure I see the issue. Removing Cake Wallet is a breaking change to recommendations, is it really that bad?
Cake Wallet includes many privacy features such as Litecoin MWEB, Bitcoin silent payments, swaps that route through the Tor network and Coin Control. This can greatly benefit users of non-privacy coins and potentially avoid them using a worse service such as coinbase to store their crypto.
The best option would be to recommend Monero.com for anyone who only wants to use Monero and state that for anyone who wants to use non-privacy coins, the best option would be Cake Wallet.
