Simple privacy steps guide to share with non-tech folks?

Let me know if this is outside of the scope, or if a guide like this already exists, but I was thinking that it might be useful to have a simple guide to share with non-tech savvy folks on steps they can take to protect their privacy given recent changes in the US-privacy sphere.

I keep finding myself fielding questions from friends/family who see me as more tech-savvy on “what should I do if I want to go out of the country” or “should I delete my Twitter(x) account” or “what can I do if law enforcement asks for my device,” and while I feel like there are some localized guides out there (like EFF, ACLU, etc.), I haven’t found a comprehensive localized place for stuff like this. I also have anecdotally heard a lot of misinformation or non-best practices, and it’s hard to address all of those when people are obviously worried and want to take steps but don’t necessarily know the best steps to take.

I also want to be cognizant of recognizing (a) legal issues with providing advice; (b) all of the nuances that can’t be covered; (c) different threat modeling; (d) this would be very-US centric; etc., but I just felt like I’m struggling to find an up-to-date centralized resource for things like this, that is approachable to the general public.

Curious if folks either know of resources that already exist that have accounted for recent threats to privacy, or if others also feel like there’s a need for a resource like this. Or if I’m just barking up the wrong tree and am making up a need for something!

Think this is a great idea. A lot of people who have the desire to stay secure don’t have the technical know-how.

Not sure it answers exactly to your question but there are
