Hello, I hope you’re all well!
I’m starting the journey of cleaning up my digital footprint, this website is an excellent resource so thank you so much to everyone who has compiled this information, it’s invaluable and you’re doing important work.
My greatest data concern is that I want to delete the biometric “face scans” that are used to verify identity through shady third party services. In particular, I recently signed up as a food courier with Uber, and although I didn’t consent to their using AI to verify my identity, face photos were taken by a third party service (ubble.ai, owned by checkout.com group). I feel terrible that I’ve allowed this to happen, I don’t want the machine to have my face! I’m willing to put in the work now to undo my mistakes.
This was the final straw for me to get on with sorting out my digital footprint and general data. I just want to clean this up now, it’s really important to me and I need some help because I’m not sure how to go about doing it.
Basically, what I need help with is understanding how I can invoke my rights (I live in the UK) to be forgotten and have my data deleted. I need to find whatever emails I can associated with checkout.com, ubble.ai and anyone else that has scans of my face (I also want to request data deletion from banks that use face scans to verify identity) and request that my biometric data be deleted, but I don’t know how to properly request data deletion.
Any and all help would be appreciated massively as I’m a bit stuck for what to do about this. Even if it’s just pointing me in the right direction for more resources I can use to educate myself I would be so massively appreciative!
Thank you everyone, I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
