Remove the already default settings from "Recommended Brave Settings"

There are settings that are already on by default on Brave, so no need to keep them in the “Recommended Brave Settings” list, making the process of hardening more complicated that it already is.
Those settings are:

  • Check Block fingerprinting
  • Select Block third-party cookies

  • Select Automatically remove permissions from unused sites under Sites and Shields Settings
    • Uncheck Use Google services for push messaging
  • Select Auto-redirect AMP pages
  • Select Auto-redirect tracking URLs
  • Select Prevent sites from fingerprinting me based on my language preferences

  • Uncheck Allow privacy-preserving product analytics (P3A)
  • Uncheck Automatically send daily usage ping to Brave

I believe this option is now changed, it used to be " * Uncheck Show search suggestions" now it should be " * Uncheck Improve search suggestions"

Is this the case for both mobile and desktop settings? I haven’t got the chance to reinstall both versions yet to check

Even if they’re the right setting by default, someone might have changed it at some point. Better to list the setting so people can check anyway.

I only checked for desktop, since I have Brave on my phone long time ago.

When they change it, we change it. That’s why the site keeps getting updates.
IMHO the simpler it as, more people are willing to adopt it.

No I don’t mean Brave changing the defaults, I mean a user might have changed the default settings at some point. We’re not assuming the browser is freshly installed. Plus if Brave do change the defaults at some point then we won’t have to do anything.
