Reliable Data Recovery Labs?

On the Data Recovery subreddit, it’s recommended to seek laboratory recovery services when an NVMe drive becomes unresponsive or undetectable on both Windows and Linux systems. My own NVMe isn’t recognized in the Linux file explorer or via the ddrescue command, so I believe I fit this category.

However, information about data recovery labs that prioritize customer privacy and have undergone third-party audits is bit scarce. Are there any reliable recommendations or sources for trustworthy labs operating internationally? Additionally, are there specific certifications I should look for?

You could look at DriveSavers.

In terms of privacy credentials they have the SOC 2 Type II certificate and you can view the audit.

A quick perusal of their privacy policy doesn’t bring up any red flags to me.

  • DriveSavers does not sell, trade, or rent personal identification information.
  • Users can access, correct, or delete their personal data upon request.
