nwipe is likely more thorough than the listed shred command, but it ignores the other steps
and nvme sanitize should be preferred over nvme format when available as it is more robust
additionally it is my understanding that --ses 2 can be less effective than --ses 1, as the latter typically includes the key erase in addition to the block erase

How can bonus #1 and #2 be done after step #5
