Questions about VM running MacOS

  1. Is there any benefit to turning on FileVault for the VM or is it just a waste of resources? (My MacOS machine already has FileVault turned on)
  2. Same question for Lockdown mode

Depends on what you’re planning to use the VM for? macOS is designed to be run on apple hardware. All of its security features are designed for the specific hardware, too, so, even though the VM is containerized, the data within that VM isn’t guaranteed to be secure.
