Hi, I have a paid Proton account which is attached to my custom domain – neither the Proton account nor the custom domain are attached to my identity, and the aliases generated for the custom domain are random.
However, now that Proton adds services like Proton Meet, I would like to find a way to use them without losing the privacy benefits of my setup. If I were to add a Proton address (see the “My addresses” in the settings) with my name, would this endanger my privacy? I mean, Proton needs to know which address is associated with which account, right?
I thought of getting a separate, free Proton account, but I do not think free accounts have Proton Meet. Also, if I imported that free account into my Proton desktop or mobile app, that would tie me to the non-free account, right?
I have the exact same problem with Proton Calendar. I want to be able to share a calendar without ever exposing any of my Proton addresses, because I mostly use aliases to communicate with contacts. But every calendar exposes your address.
using a middleman like njalla or incognet to own the domain in their name. they both accept monero and require no personal information other than an email for an account.
I actually lost track of the discussion there – which risk is not realistic? Creating a Proton address with my name in the account that is anonymous would tie my identity to it, wouldn’t it?
