Structure? The only source of income is no-strings donations, if that’s what you mean.
I know this is @jordan job but I have created a visual aid.
You can see the money going in and out since we joined magic grants here:
(Yes I know the irony of that being a google link, magic is working on that.)
All money we take are strictly no strings attached, and we also do not use affiliate links nor do paid recommendations.
You can support us here: Privacy Guides Fund
:).
I really love the transparency! Thanks!
I’ll assume merchandise revenue is really low.
That would be (sadly) correct. But yeah, transparency and our community is what differenciates us from the generic top10vpn review sites
Consider adding the merch link to a more prominent place, perhaps the hamburger menu of the main site and the forum. I had to search and use an old article’s link which led me to your HELLOTUX page.
Yep agreed, it’s not on the donation page either.
It is linked in the FAQ.
We’re going to focus more on fundraising in 2025 and rethink how we promote these options for support, but it’s a far lower priority compared to y’know actually doing the work, making sure everything is accurate, and getting more content out there, so… just kind of on the back burner for now.
This is something that Privacy Guides will need to decide to adopt, but one of the features of the new campaign website is the option for donors to choose to receive points back for their donation. These points can be redeemed for merchandise. Currently it’s limited to exactly one product with the MAGIC Grants logo (lol), but we can easily expand this to include anything on Printful. We also intend to add gift cards for certain services.
Merchandise is an emerging area that will see a lot of experimentation in 2025.
