Hi. This is my first post and i am unable to access the forums section of this website on the default safari browser on iPhone. It keeps showing me the loading page (with bubbles animation and not the blue bar at the search bar). And moreover the browsing experience on safari with privaterelay is very very slow. There’s always a problem with this phone and this OS in general. Also please guide me how to effectively move out of this system and migrate my data to a more free alternative like grapheneOS on a pixel phone.
Thanks.
It loads just fine for me on Safari with Private Relay.
Do you have any content blockers installed like AdGuard for example, or custom DNS settings like NextDNS?
Yes i had adguard extension + adguard dns. Removed them both. Cleared safari data and restart iPhone. Didnt work. I’m stuck at the bubble screen. The website seems to be loaded but it doesn’t go past the bubble animation. I’m on the latest version of iOS
I actually use Safari + Private relay exclusively and never had any issues, so that’s a bit strange.
Since Safari is tied to the iOS, what iOS version are you running? Also do you have Lockdown Mode enabled?
The problem was because of turning on the “Block All Cookies” option in the advanced settings of the browser. Now it’s working fine. But shouldn’t happen i guess. Anyway
Thanks for the help.
Privacyguides has been a very useful guide for me.
Yes if you block all cookies many sites will break, first party cookies are required a lot of the time. Safari blocks third party cookies by default and generally does a good job against tracking, also you can make use of different profiles to separate your browsing as well.
Thanks for sharing what the issue was. I am not sure if this can be fixed, but I will still look into whether it’s something we can improve on our end.
