Privacy focused online-stores?

Hey!

Do you guys know privacy-focused online stores preferably ones which delivers worldwide? Where you can buy digital goods or even hardware, books and anything else concerned about privacy?

I only know LaptopWithLinux or ProxyStore.

This is not possible because it is not private by definition if you have to give your address and if the item you’re buying is a physical good that needs shipping.

For digital goods, there’s https://www.bitrefill.com/ca/en/ and Coincards Canada - Canada's Bitcoin to Gift Card Exchange Service (you may want to change the location/store to your country if available).

I’m not sure what makes LaptopWithLinux a privacy-focused store or the difference between using ProxyStore and a VPN.

The best thing is to probably rent a mailbox as your delivery address. If the online store requires a phone no., you can use a second number. You can only do so much to minimize data collection when shopping online because they need your personal information to deliver to you.

I’ve been changing my online shopping habits this year since I’m trying to minimize what I have delivered to my home address. On Amazon, I pay using gift cards and have my parcels delivered to my local Amazon locker. On eBay, I have my parcels delivered to my local Argos store.

For everything else, I rent a private mailbox. KYC and verification is mandatory, but the idea is you trust one company with your personal details than multiple companies. Since the start of the year, the only thing I’ve had delivered to my home address is my new bank / ID card.

In my area there’s a company whose address you can use for a fee for online orders without verification. I really like it, but it’s a bit expensive when you pay $8 for one delivery.

For everything else, I rent a private mailbox.

I can highly recommend online shops that deliver to pickup stations or have stores for pickup.
Either you pay with a voucher you can buy at the discount store or you pay cash when picking up

Unfortunately, this isn’t an effective option for me. I only order occasionally, and paying around $60 per month including a valid address is just too expensive for me.

I haven’t seen anything cheaper here yet.

Ever heard of pickup stations or private mailboxes? With some online shops, you can have items delivered directly to such stations - so far I’ve never had to register or show ID anywhere (which would never be an option).

The latter can be rented for a fee, meaning you don’t have to provide your address.

I use Amazon with giftcards, haven’t given Amazon my phone number or home address.

I’ve opted to have my purchases go to a nearby post office. Some items can’t be sent to the locker but the post office is fine.

I do have to show my ID to collect the item but my name is extremely common, lucky me.

They accept Monero too.
