I use Proton for private email and my root account. For anything else, I use Purelymail.

I use tuta in like 90% of the time, but Gmail for the rest of 10%. I use both of them only for registrations and not for communication.

Did you import your old emails from another provider? If so, are those encrypted?

Thanks - unfortunately it looks like if I edit the poll now, it’ll clear the existing results

I rely on a number of systems – all are important, so no single one can be considered “main”:

Work: Outlook/365 (required)
Friends/family: Gmail
Spam and Ham/Mailing lists/purchases: Yahoo
Security and fun stuff: Proton

No

No. Only the incoming emails will be encrypted.

I use fastmail as my email provider mostly due to annoyances with the protonmail bridge thing. The way I use email I belive it doesn’t matter if it’s encrypted or not. My way of thinking in regards to email is if I use my own domain which I do, I would be still trackable no matter if the emails are encrypted or not. Also even if someone goes into my email they will just see a bunch of unimportant emails (like login codes and spam)

EDIT: What I mean to be more exact is that I belive that if I get atacked by a 3 letter agency the metadata (that can’t be avoided) is already enough to the point that having acess to emails wouldn’t change meanigfully the ammount of information. I don’t use emails as a communication platform where the security matters. And also I trust enough the privacy policy of fastmail that they don’t sell my emails to third parties.

Currently Infomaniak because their email service comes for free with a domain, but if I would switch I’d strongly consider Mailbox or Forwardemail; maybe Protonmail.

I am using MXroute. It is cheap, reliable, and I highly doubt they scan emails for ad targeting or ai training. Given that most of my email communication is with unsecure providers anyway, I do not feel the at rest encryption Proton Mail or Tuta provide is worth sacrificing IMAP support.

What a honeypot to scrap our fellow users’ preferences for a targeted attack. :honey_pot:

:face_with_tongue:

You can use temporary Gmail addresses, if you prefer to do so. You can always change the address manually, meaning you can keep your inbox address after closing the browser.

Temporary Gmail addresses can only be used for receiving mails, rather than sending. You can access those at https://www.temporary-mail.net/.

Hope that helps you achieving more privacy online
