I’m getting an error in Obtainium when trying to update ONLYOFFICE and their GitHub repository for the Android Documents app is giving a 404. Does anyone know what’s up with this. Is it finally time to move on from ONLYOFFICE? Or can I just keep using the latest version since I grant it no permissions? Anyone else run into this issue? What are your thoughts?
I’ve been exploring the official site, including their blog, the community forum, and their Telegram channel, but I haven’t found anything helpful regarding this issue.
Euro-Office is the planned / upcoming FOSS fork. It is not live yet, and it will probably be many, many months before we see mobile apps (someone please correct me if I’m wrong about that, and they’ve posted a timeline somewhere). I guess in the meantime I’ll go back to one of the other options. I’ve tried to avoid this because the ONLYOFFICE UI is truly leaps ahead of the alternatives, but this seems like the final straw.
The first stable release is June 9th, so not that long after all. But only for the document server:
Euro-Office is not designed for stand-alone use, but developed to be a web based and integrated in another product that handles documents, for example a file sharing solution, an online wiki, a project management tool and so on.
The standalone apps are still being worked on:
The next phase will focus on developing desktop and mobile applications, as well as integration features.
