Hi, I uninstalled Nvidia Control Panel on Windows 11, but the ‘Nvidia Settings’ keeps popping-up. It’s actually called Nvidia Settings when I hover on it, but ‘Nvidia Container’ when I check the tray icons in the Windows settings.
I also use NVCleanstall to update my graphic drivers.
How do I keep Nvidia Settings icon (in the tray) from appearing? When I right-click it, the only option I have is ‘Exit’. When I do press on exit, it pops back again like 15 minutes later.
Hmmm, I actually asked AI and it might not be a good idea afterall. I think I’ll live with the icon lol.
" What does the ‘Nvidia Display Container LS’ service do in Windows 11?"
"The NVIDIA Display Container LS service is an important component of the NVIDIA graphics driver software on Windows systems. Here are the key things to know about this service:
Purpose and Functions
It manages and optimizes graphics settings for NVIDIA graphics cards.
Handles resource sharing between different applications that utilize the graphics card.
Ensures smooth communication between the operating system, applications, and the NVIDIA graphics card.
Allows multiple applications to access the graphics card simultaneously without conflicts or performance issues.
Behavior in Windows
Runs automatically in the background when you start your computer.
Appears as a process in Task Manager.
Consumes a small amount of system resources (CPU and memory) during normal operation.
Considerations
It is a normal and expected process if you have an NVIDIA graphics card installed.
Generally should not be disabled, as it plays a crucial role in the proper functioning of NVIDIA graphics hardware.
Disabling it may negatively impact graphics performance and functionality.
In most cases, the NVIDIA Display Container LS service should be left running to ensure optimal performance of your NVIDIA graphics card and related applications."
I have set the Nvidia service on manual, you could start it when needed like for gaming and see if there is a difference in performance with or without the container running.
