NVCleanstall equivalent for Intel?

I’m helping a friend setting up a computer and was wondering if there was an equivalent to the NVCleanstall software?

Or is the default program “Intel Graphics Command Center” safe privacy wise?

I did some research. There seem to be alternatives to NVCleanstall, such as:

  • GPU-Z: a tool that allows you to monitor and manage your graphics card settings
  • Snappy Driver Installer: a tool that allows you to install and update drivers, including graphics drivers.

Snappy Driver Installer seems open source, so I’ll try that one.

As for the Intel Graphics Command Center, Intel does appear to collect some data, such as system configuration and usage patterns, to improve their products and services. However, you can review and manage the data collection settings within the software. But as with Windows, I’m not sure the extent on how that truly helps or not.

There’s no direct NVCleanstall equivalent for Intel GPUs. Intel Graphics Command Center is safe privacy-wise, with minimal telemetry and no forced logins.

Does this do something that using the “clean install” checkbox when installing nvidia graphics drivers manually doesn’t do?

It sure does. You can choose exactly which parts to install and leave out everything you don’t need! Strong recommendation.

Yes exactly, I did research on it, and found same answer. you’re pro
