As we currently don’t list any local notebook applications for Android, Notally might be a good option.
It is a modern Android app which doesn’t require any permissions (not even for exporting/importing backups).
It is written in Kotlin and allows for formatting.
It is available on Google Play Store, F-Droid as well as Github Releases.
I was the one to initially bring this app up for discussion, but I would probably not add it yet, at least until there’s some update on this:
The PR is closed and someone said “Fixed in v5.3".
any updates?
Does it support markdown?
The dev didn’t enable issues tracker nor discussion on github repo.
Here’s a review from Aug 20, 2022
I use it as a replacement for Simple Notes after they got bought. nice app ![]()
If you’re referring to the Simple Mobile Tools apps, they have been forked into the Fossify apps which are community maintained and have replaced them on F-Droid, though I don’t think Fossify Notes has released yet.
Yeah I know. I already replaced Gallery, Calendar and SMS Messenger but I think I like Notally more then simple note. I only using the widget for to-do list and to remember things.
