If you ever wanted an alternative to:
- ngrok
- Cloudflare tunnels
- Pangolin (too apparently? never used that one myself)
Netbird shipped such a feature in their latest release
With possibility of having SSO + having a simple GUI àla nginx-proxy-manager.
This will make me reconsider some of my own split all over tools in favor of just having 1 simple working one (while being less memory hungry
).
They released DNS zones few weeks ago too skipping the need to reach out to an external endpoint for a loopback and keeping all of it locally self-hosted!
Glad to see that not everything is going to
and some people do still care about doing nice things, the right way! Felt like sharing positive vibes today~ ![]()
And if you’re still not super hardcore on self-hosting and using Tailscale, I guess it could be a slow progressive migration starting from their Cloud solution too.
Haha, we’ll hopefully have people more excited[1] of trying self-hosting their own stuff in a nearby future. ![]()
or at least, less scared
