Its the same as Tuta giving a free premium account(s) to non profits. Good products helping out good products.
That nice I didn’t know that.
Sorry I was wrong. Not free accounts but a significant discount. Don’t know why I remembered it was free. Perhaps could be free for a one man or a small team of a non profit? Not sure.
This is what I like to see. Companies coming together in the privacy-sphere to circumvent fragmentation and promote unity.
I really think all the privacy companies we and PG loves should have a mention of each other on their website under a “Friends of [company name]” section where if its GOS, they should have other tools they value like Mullvad or Tuta or Proton. These can act as soft suggestions/recommendations for folks exploring and reading their websites to continue discovering other tools/products or companies in the privacy sphere.
I haven’t thought this idea through but I don’t see any downside as such in the moment.
There are various “alliances” spread around for things like this. Windscribe Creates a Privacy-Focused Alliance for example is one of them.
Yes, yes. I am aware. But these alliances are never obvious and easily found in my opinion.
Also not obvious: Such alliances mostly serve marketing purposes (specifically, distribution).
Provided Mullvad meets their needs, they’re least likely to pull the plug on them. There’s no mention yet of whether they’ve taken them up on the offer, though.
Update
I wish every company had even half the rationalism and morals through which Mullvad operates - the world would be so much better.
Same with DuckDuckGo. Donating over 8 million $ is absolutely insane.
