Here is the link, does it basically convert a normal FF install info Mullvad? that would be cool
It does not. Its main feature is letting you select a proxy server for either the whole browser or on a per-website basis. I find this most useful for routing a single website that is blocking VPN use to a server location that they arenât blocking yet (pretty much trial and error) without having to change the server location system-wide. Mullvad explains a few more use cases for their proxy servers here.
Mullvad Browser modifies Firefox far beyond what an extension can do with fingerprinting protection, ephemeral browsing, and uBlock Origin installed by default, along with other privacy-respecting default settings. Mullvad Browser also comes with the Mullvad extension so you can access these more advanced Mullvad VPN features (as the browser is intended, though not required, to be paired with Mullvad VPN).

No
Almost all of the features Mullvad has are optional features in Firefox already. The main value Mullvad Browser adds is not new privacy features, it is uniformity. So you canât really âconvertâ anything to emulate this, and definitely not through an extension, since the primary difference is not really a technical one, it is about providing a consistent, pre-configured, out of the box setup that you as the user are not meant to modify or change.
Mullvadâs Browser extension is there for mullvad VPN users, it doesnât really relate to Mullvad Browser afaik, beyond that it is pre-installed on Mullvad Browser.
The TL;DR is if you need the strong anti-fingerprinting protection provided by Mullvad Browser or Tor Browser, you need to use Mullvad Browser or Tor Browser in its default configuration. But if you donât need this level of protection Firefox w/ a few changes, Brave w/ a few changes, or Firefox w/ Arkenfox or Betterfox settings could be a reasonable choice.
Iâm thinking about renaming âMullvad Browser Extensionâ to something else, because that would clear up any misunderstanding.
While initially the purpose of the extension was not only proxy, it is clearly mainly is now.
