I thought this was already possible. Clearly I’m not technical enough to do this but seeing that it was all open source, thought this was already the case.
So you can build the app of any open-source yourself. But the resultings binary might be very slightly different than the official binary you would find on Github. This is because your/their machine might have had a bit swithc, or other factors that results in a very small difference.
But because of this, you can’t ensure that the binary actually come from the public code.
This is now changed (on Android at least)
