Firefox is removing the Do Not Track setting from version 135 onwards. Mozilla recommends using Global Privacy Control setting as alternative,

I always thought “Do Not Track” was a pointless feature. Always left it off.

It’s a shame they didn’t just enable it by default or toggle DNT and GPC together. That would’ve avoided the fingerprinting issue but still communicated “do not track” to the few websites who respect it.

This is good for people residing in jurisdictions that have and enforce the related laws. Per Mozilla, this includes California, Colorado, Connecticut, EU, UK, Nevada, Utah and Virginia.

For others, these signals can be used to fingerprint them. :disappointed_relieved: Hopefully, it doesn’t take much time for the laws in most jurisdictions to catch up, but I’m not holding my breath.
