The signature 27 will be annouced in November 2026 not release, they will likely open pre-orders and then release it somewhere during 2027 to match the “27” denode but only time will tell, we don’t know for sure beyond the announcement month
My friend, if you read the article, that number $400 isn’t as kind to you as you think it should be.
>Pixel 9 Pro reportedly costs Google around $400 in materials to make
>There are a ton of costs associated with building and putting out a smartphone, well beyond the cost of the materials themselves
>The Pixel 9 Pro may cost Google around $406 to make, purely looking at the cost of materials.
So even the article is saying “It’s $400 in parts - but costs are not all parts.”
Sure, I can’t imagine another $600 in logistics, marketing, design, etc. Maybe - the iphone costs more to make, but $999-ish is the limit for flagship phone pricing right now for what the market can bare. Pixel 10s might hit that price point because iphones and Samsung set the market there for “flagship phones” and they’re trying to use cheaper parts and drafting on the price point to generate more revenue.
And my comment was based on numerous devices being sold below the “device alone” price because of the expected revenue from advertising over the lifetime of the product. TVs, refrigerators - anything that demands you install an app isn’t a premium product, it’s the cheap thing. Which is on me for equating a flagship phone at a premium price to that category.
However, let’s recall that Google’s revenue are 75% advertising. It’s primarily an advertising company. All Google devices, which includes Nest devices, are the last and lowest revenue generators, per their own SEC filing on 2025 financials.
Can I find specific proof that pixels should be prices higher? No, so, hey, I may stand corrected with that. But it’s also true that neither of us really has anything rock-solid in terms of evidence one way or another. Considering that Pixels come loaded with Google platform apps and an advertising ID, that revenue is guaranteed on every Pixel that isn’t running GOS.
