I just saw a banner on here saying that there will be “Members-only content”.
What will that be?
I’m generally against this for purposes of access reasons: either due to financial difficulties or direct financial limitations such as age or location or sanctions.
So I hope it is balanced in a thought out way.

That’s a good question, and a lot of it will come down to how many people are interested and what our members themselves want to see. We are open to suggestions.
I think it is likely that a lot but not all of the content that we pay people to create will be limited to people who want to pay for that content in return.
We are also considering some non-exclusive perks like early access to videos, priority Q&A responses, members-only forums/chats, etc.
At the end of the day it is all still TBD, but the goal is at least to provide as much, if not much more, value to our members compared to similar ~$10/month Patreon tiers from other websites, podcasts, and video channels. There’s a lot of information in this space, and I hope there are also a lot of people who trust Privacy Guides to publish the best version of that information. We will see!
I certainly think it will be worth it, but of course we have not done this yet, which is exactly why we are offering 40% off to our earliest supporters that they can keep forever if they want to take this gamble 
These are all added benefits, because obviously content that we collect from volunteers and share for free, like our knowledge base & recommendations, the community wiki, and forum content here are not going to be paywalled.
Perhaps you can split this comment with your info on it to a new post where people can share their views and add suggestions like you said.
My suggestion is that if you do make any content that is for paying members only, atleast make that info available after a couple of weeks or so. Could be upto a month if it’s not time sensitive or a security related informational content. This way, everyone can atleast get access to it even if its “late”.
If you’re also waiting to see and still deciding what and how you’re going to go about it - I personally recommend thinking about how much, frequently, and actively you/PG will be able to keep providing that type of exclusive content/info/perk, etc. What I mean is, if consistency can’t be promised to be maintained, then don’t offer it.
I would also love to see PG offer alternative’s to using your plastic for payments - crypto payments for those who can’t use their cards or don’t want to for privacy reasons. Is it really hard to set up with something with BitPay? I’m sure there’s a way to keep track of how much who has paid and when they need to pay next to keep their subscription active if it is non auto renewing.
Anyways - I will have more thoughts and ideas as I let this brew in my mind.

You definitely can support the project with cryptocurrency, and many people do, but I can’t discount it like this unfortunately. You can use any method listed here:

I also don’t know how to note the alternative crypto option on the current checkout form we’re using, but that can probably be fixed.
We are starting this because I think we have already demonstrated great consistency from the beginning of this year and this is the best way to carry that forward
I just signed up. Have no clue how to integrate my Magic donation account, as it never asked me to create one. Just set up through the link payment processor.

This discount would continue only as long as one is subscribed starting now? I mean if I choose to stop my subscription for a couple of months in the future for some reason then return later i would lose this privilege?
The MAGIC account is only for people who donate with Cryptocurrency or through donate.magicgrants.org, not if you pay directly through our website with the discount link. You have the Member flair here on the forum so there is no need for you to do anything else

So, it’s only for as long as you are able maintain the subscription, and not the lifetime of your account/the website? Basically if you ever lapse in payment then the rate will go up whenever you re-subscribe.
