Looking for a program for Live Captions AND Translation (Linux or GrapheneOS)

Hi there,

I’m headed to a meeting in Rome, and my Italian is not great.

A colleague told me about how PowerPoint can do live captions and automatically translate them, which you can use even without presenting. He told me he sat in a meeting and had PowerPoint open and it would auto translate what was being said with minimal delay. However, I’ve been exclusively using Linux Mint for several years, and I’m not willing to purchase and install Windows and Microsoft Office just for this.

Are there Linux-capable alternatives? Other suggestions? Unfortunately learning sufficient Italian is not an option due to the meeting being quite soon.

Thanks!

If it’s for important work, I’d simply recommend you use a web version of such an app or service where live translations can be made.

There are so many apps and tools that do this not just on your computer but on your smartphone too. I would simply use any one of them if it’s just for this one trip or occasion.
