Longer term, it could come down to the fact that Linux performance on Intel chips may be subpar to ARM and AMD chips. This will really impact cloud providers and their purchases for buildouts of data centers.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Microsoft sneak their way into the #1 kernel maintainer.
