They are STILL committing to open source. But they are apparently reconsidering how they’ll do it.
It is unclear how this will impact Linux so far.

I wonder if they are thinking that they got left behind tech because they used “open source”.
Someone should remind them that 2 CEOs ago, they’d rather have short term profits with just rehashing the same CPU than make long term engineering and technological advances. Now AMD is ahead.
Someone also remind them that GPU is the new hotness right now and that the compute that matters happen in the GPU space. They also didn’t invest in that.
But hey hindsight is 20/20…
