Joplin has finally upgraded their encryption to AES-256. According to this note from the Joplin dev, only new notes will be encrypted at 256. The workaround to this is to export everything into a single *.jex file and then delete all of your notes, on all of your machines. When you import your jex backup, it’ll create and sync those “new” notes at AES-256.

Joplin apparently has a (currently hidden) feature to trigger re-encryption, which could be made visible.
Do someone know how to check if a particular note is encrypted with AES128 or AES256?
