Has anything change since 2024?
Is Aurora store recommended? I see it’s in the guide but wanted opinions on it.
I did not hear updates on Aurora Store’s security recently. It is still recommended by Privacy Guides.
Aurora Store is not the most secure app store. It is in fact less secure than Google Play or Accrescent for instance. It is thus more likely to be hacked, to deliver compromised apps or misfunctionning. You have to decide if you can accept that risk.
It can definitely be useful to download Play Store apps if you don’t have a Google account.
Does it make up for the security downsides if you use appverifier?
The biggest security concern about Aurora store was the lack of certificate pinning but It has been addressed since 2024.
