Introducing Proton Sheets: Secure spreadsheets for business

I wonder if Sheets is the product of the Standard Notes team, same as how Docs was? They do not mention anything about Standard Notes in their release blog for Sheets, but they do mention them in the Docs one. Someone should confirm if this is true or not. If it is true that they did not employ the Standard Notes team, I find this is concerning in my opinion.

The initial selling point of Proton buying out Standard Notes was that they would somehow be “pseudo-integrated”, similar to SimpleLogin’s pseudo-integration. This was, of course, if they didn’t make a full-fledged Proton Notes product (which they didn’t). But since this has yet to pass (in fact, it will most likely never will, some people have re-interpreted the benefit of the buyout to come from the Standard Notes development team, not the non-existent integration.

But if it’s true that Standard Notes was not employed to work on Sheets, then buy out is, in my opinion, completely useless… Standard Notes already has a spreadsheets product already. I would see no reason not to use the Standard Notes development team on Sheets like they did with Docs.
