Hi, Noobie here lol iv come across a few guys selling imei changing pixels not pixel 7 though apparently. And mudi WiFi routers with Imei changing on them. I’m based in a place where Imei changing isn’t illegal so don’t come for me lol I’m just wondering is it hard to do ? What’s the best idea WiFi router or the phones what’s more secure ? Any advice will be very great full for. Thanks
I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but even if you did change your imei.
The sim card or esim ISMSI number would still be transmitted. Do you live in a country like Canada or USA, where you can get a burner Sim ? (anonymous when paid cash)
I’d just like as much privacy as possible. I used to have a google pixel 7 which Imei changed every time on restart and I had a supposedly encrypted sim that changed inside weekly and I just felt safer and would have liked to found out how it’s done
If you want to have a lot of privacy, you would need to get an anonymous imsi number.
If you cannot, then use WIFI + VPN.
I definitely wouldn’t buy a “privacy hardened Pixel” from someone, it’s very sketchy. I’d only ever consider making modifications myself.
A community guide was posted on how to do it: Pixel (Tensor chip) IMEI modification guide
But note that GrapheneOS poked holes in the effectiveness of spoofing your IMEI for “improved privacy” in this Twitter thread: https://nitter.net/GrapheneOS/status/1903187370259759514#m
They supposedly also said Mudi routers are also ineffective but I don’t have a source for that which includes their reasoning.
Thanks doc for the reply and info I’ll have a look into that forum regarding doing it yourself I’ll have a look! And oh I read somewhere else that possibly the mudi routers are no good aswell so I’ll give that a miss.
Thanks for the help pal
Thanks Julie do you think you could possibly point me in the right direction to find one of them Imsi numbers
Sorry, the only solution I know is to buy one in a country where it’s approuved.
Here one source of information (maybe not updated)

Thanks for the info Julie!
