So… LTT decoded to cover Graphene OS. Interesting choice of title ![]()
I’m just happy a mainstream content creator has decided to cover it. Title is clickbait. I can let it go.. though does not bode well for PR reasons.
Title and thumbnail are a bit unfortunate. Video is a lot more positive.
There are a lot more people who will look at the thumbnail then scroll past than actually watch the video; I just think it adds unnecessary fuel to the fire which is that only criminals care about privacy.
Yeah felt like they went full on “appease the algorithm” with the title and thumbnail but, like you said, a positive video once you get past those. I think its a big net positive for the GOS project for this video to come out.
Indeed and if may be used wrongly as proof that who ever uses grapheneOS is a criminal which is really a bad take.
I proudly use grapheneOS btw and I love it.
I think most common thieves, gangsters, drug dealers etc. don’t bother to install custom operating systems to their phones.
Absolutely, I have never met a single drug dealer who used any privacy tool other than telegram and snapchat. No wonder most of them were quickly caught

People who have never heard of GrapheneOS might think that it is only used by ‘criminals’. It’s a really bad choice of title and thumbnail.
Linux knows his audience and is also an amazing sales man, he indeed made the thumbnail fitting some emotional reaction. With something more subtle and less clickbaity, he would have gotten far less views which is a fine tradeoff I think.
He also did quite an amazing job presenting GOS’ features and benefits, so no hard feelings haha. ![]()
This is probably also one of the best introduction available online given the presentation of the features, the mood and editing.
It is also very pragmatic and accessible. ![]()
The word “Criminal’s” is in quotation, and it’s in reference to recent articles about police officers suspecting Google Pixel users as criminals. Is it clickbait? I think it’s just humourous.
It was on quotation at time of posting but it’s now removed. Edit: it is back. Maybe some YouTube issue then. Edited title.
Even without the quotation, there’s a screenshot of one of the articles in the video.
It’s fine, just AB testing to see which thumbnail fits the best.
Quite common on bigger channels that have the bandwidth to create/tinker with thumbnails over the hours/days after the upload.
