How toxic are daily Newsletters from the press (unfortunately I don't use a Feed Reader because there are too many articles)

Hi

I have subscribed to 20-30 newsletters from the local press on a fake email address (email provider recommended by PG). I actually know that PG recommends a feed reader because tracking is much more difficult that way.

When reading via feed reader, I always have the problem that there are far too many articles per day. In a daily newsletter there are usually only 3-5 articles with a description. This saves me valuable time, which I prefer to spend on technical tinkering (I love the Open Source projects that PG recommends).

What do you think? How toxic are press newsletters with personalized tracking links? How can I improve this misery? What is your opinion?

Thank you and a nice week

I’ve tried email newsletters and RSS, and found both unfortunately are spammier than I want. I’ve settled on just bookmarking my favorite news sites and checking their homepages in my browser.

I guess this question of how to consume content and the feeling about it heavily depends on what we are consuming. I daily consume consciously toxic news from very bad sources and would like to change that habit but I can’t find platforms that satisfy my need to consume news. I’d like some curated list of news that I can trust but I think doing that I’d be transferring the work to someone else and not refining what I want to really see. Basically I feel that I need to invest time to filter good content.
