You can use Cryptomator to encrypt the folder you need to encrypt!

Yep. This is the best solution for what OP is asking.
I’ve tried different options for folder encryption, always thinking there might be other ‘tricks’ I haven’t discovered.
But I always come back to Cryptomator because it’s just a solid solution and user-friendly.
Although it was built for the purpose of encrypting folders in the cloud, you can encrypt folders on your device with it too, and it works well.
