I was browsing through my accounts on my password manager and I realised I have more than 100 accounts in total. Is it normal even when doing some cleanup? How many accounts do you have?
- Bank account
- Gaming account
- Email account
- Streaming account
- Amazon account
- Account for paying bills
That’s all. I don’t understand how is it possible you have more than 100 accounts it’s excessive in my opinion
I have 50~ logins (excluding logins belonging to my family) stored in Bitwarden, I’m (sort of) a minimalist so I always clean up accounts I no longer use or don’t create at all. It’s just a habit of mine that I find very beneficial for my privacy/opsec.
Same.
Same !! Hurra minimalism.
I have 46 (including three fake Google accounts. One for Play Store in my main profile, one for my private space, and one for my TV).
No Privacy Guides forum account?!
Hm, I don’t find that normal. Make sure you aren’t harboring deleted/inactive accounts. I wouldn’t want anyone finding my old aliases if my pw manager somehow got compromised.
Like 500 lol
Some people don’t bother with spring cleaning. Depends on the personality.
How many apps do you have?
Me: 20 apps in my app drawer - 12 installed myself with the rest being system apps.
It sounds to me like you are counting your “accounts” in a non-standard way. Maybe you have only 6 sets of account credentials stored in your password manager, but I highly doubt (assuming you are an adult) that you have only 6 accounts in total.
As an example, you omitted your privacyguides account from your list. But you have one.
How many other accounts are you overlooking? Is Privacyguides literally the only place you’ve made an account to comment or ask a question online? No other forums? No social media ever? No messengers? No accounts for things like insurance, retirement/investing, utilities? No Github, no cloud storage, no VPN, no credit cards, no account with your healthcare provider, no gov’t related accounts? No work or school related accounts? And only a single gaming related account (steam?), single bank account, single streaming account?
Is it possible you are a heavy user of “Sign in with ___” and omitted all of those accounts from your list?

People definitely have more than they think.
I have 500ish in proton pass, actually i got ashamed of myself about making multiple accounts… i am trying to delete unwanted ones as many as possible
when i haven used a password manager, there might have been more of them, because i always forgot the password and have to make new ones.
According to a survey by NordPass, the average person has 168 accounts, so you’re actually well under the average.
Same here and I really think it’d be quite difficult to cut down on the number of accounts I have.
I do not have Github, cloud storage, VPN account and my credit cards in on my phone. In my country you don’t need to create multiple account for different services related to the gov. So for example the healthcare account is linked to the gov account etc..
In the past, i was using Mullvad and IVPN but a lot of websites (reddit for example) started to block their server so i stopped to use them. What’s the point of paying a VPN services if u can’t access any website ?
For the social media part, i was using them in the past. But i deleted all my accounts my privacyguides account is just a “burner” account i won’t stay here for long i think so i omitted this account from the list.
Have you ever heard of Stremio ? Take a look Stremio no need to pay Netflix anymore, HBO, etc.. you create a account on Stremio > You pay a Debrid services > You setup Torrentio and now you have access to every movies, series, anime in the world for 6$ (the price depends of the type of subscription and the debrid provider..) per month with better quality, no ads.
I do not see why i would create a work or school accounts ? I’ve never need to do that, I think we just live in different country so there is a huge difference between our system.
I also think some people on internet create account for services but stop use them after 1 day and then the account stay on the server forever this is not okay in my opinion to do that. If you do not use anymore a account for a service just delete it if u can this is what i’ve done in my case.
Those are more like categories. I have a bank account, but with multiple banks. I also have a gaming account, but some have DRMs that requires an account, so I end up with 10+ gaming accounts. What is “streaming account”? Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Crunchyroll, Spotify? If you have all five, then that’s five accounts. That’s how they all add up.
I have 82 accounts logged on my KeePass (excluding work related accounts), and I’ve deleted as many unused accounts as I can. Pretty happy I don’t have more than 100.
- I am very happy with the new method of having an alias email service (like simplelogin, etc.). This has been allowing me to build an email address for each individual account.
200ish. There are probably some accounts that could be cleaned up though. Could be a bit more or a bit less, not taking the time to separate actual accounts from other types of login info.

If we speak about accounts which can/are linked to my identity, then we speak of 11 Accounts, indifferent over my IP, my sensitive data or payment options.
Accounts (hopefully cant be linked to my identity) i have around 50, that’s accounts for different forums (like that) and similar things.
“Deleted Accounts” but possibly not deleted (service just say so), i have around 300, at least the half are/were linked to my identity, as at that time i had unluckily no interest in privacy just in fun.
