Hey, all.
I’m curious about what can be tracked by Google when a YouTube video loads on a page before you’ve interacted with it. I’ve tried to find an answer to this (here and elsewhere) but can’t find anything concrete.
I don’t interact with YouTube videos on websites. But I’m curious what’s happening under the hood when viewing a page with a YT embed. I was assuming it was safe if I hadn’t interacted with it. But I’m doubting that now. It appears that cookies are automatically fired. I use Brave for my default browser. I was hoping those cookies would be blocked because they’re third-party, which are blocked by default. Is that right?
Does anyone know if/what’s tracked when they’re inactive?
