A lot of people just donât care. Iâve only managed to get my mom and two friends on signal. My dad, and brother wonât use anything but sms and calls because it doesnât matter to them. Should i stop talking to them because our conversations arenât private or should i just bear that in mind when speaking with them?
Realistically if you already have those, theyâre gonna be fine for you. However, if you donât have them already, then the 7Hz Zero 2 that @Lukas recommended with a $10 apple USB dongle would be a better value long term since the cable is replaceable and theyâre well tuned. As to privacy and security, well wired earbuds donât have any issues there that Iâm aware of, and theyâre certainly better than Bluetooth from both of those perspectives.
We generally dont like wireless earbud for reasons but a wired USB-C should be fine and that includes the official Pixel one.
As some here are apparently passionate audio enthusiast, you can do better with a USB-C Dongle and a better wired IEM of your choice. ChiFi (Chinese Hi-Fi) are plenty of earphones for little money and price and quality are all over the place.
Crinacle is an audio engineer IRL (IIRC) and has the largest database of over the ear and IEM frequency response curves for Harman Target Curve (oh boy). And he has a Youtube channel as well. Do pick a price point and sort out by your budget price. Its a rabbit hole and you can certainly do better than your Pixel earbuds. Dont overspend though and there are practical limits to spending. That is why people are arguing above.
I have a pair and they are fine. They are comfortable, they donât get into your ear canal, which I find more comfortable than in-ear earphones, and the clever cable loop allows you to adjust them so that they stay in your ear. If you prefer wired over wireless, I think USB-C earbuds like these are the most practical form factor for phones without an audio port.
Sure, they might not have audio fidelity, or fancy features, and might be more expensive than other manufacturers, and probably worse quality. But if you donât mind the price, or the audio quality, and you just want a pair of earbuds you donât want to fiddle with, research manufacturers, or stores where to buy from, deal with importing, be able to toss them in a pocket without worrying of silicone tips coming off, dongles unplugging, just plug and play, these are great.
