Google has just been fined in Portugal for not blocking access to a website that distributes pirated content (article in Portuguese):
For at least a decade, maybe two, ISPs have been ordered by courts to block access to certain websites and they comply by implementing a DNS level block. Novel here is them going after third party DNS resolvers. When we have devices that come configured out of the box to use Google DNS, I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later…
