Feedback on the site

When a moderator chooses to delete content from the forum, can they at least leave a brief note explaining when/where/why?

For example, I posted this thread earlier today:

When I visited the site again, I had 15 alerts, yet only three posts. The thread has messages that either reference posts that no longer exist, or references shared articles that no longer exist. In both instances, the content appears to be on topic but I have no way of knowing because the mods didn’t actually notify anywhere what they did and why.

If something breaks the rules, delete away but just removing posts that leaves the remaining convo disjointed is a poor UX and not explaining the ‘why’ feels shady AF. Every post that is still up is edited and I cannot tell if that is what was originally posted or what mods edited.

Respectfully, for a privacy forum it is kinda ironic how freely the moderators edit and remove content that they didn’t post. I’ve had a mod edit my post because he didn’t like that I @'d the Proton account for example.

One thing to note is that the due to the way ActivityPub federation works, some of the original (now deleted comments) may still be visible through Mastodon.

Note that I am pointing this out to potentially provide context to some of the confusion around deleted comments and not as a statement of approval/disapproval of any comments made during the thread in question.

Mods, apologies if pointing out the un-deleted federated comments is somehow against the forum rules. My intent here was just to provide some context for @naibed .
