Hello I am planning of leaving iOS in favour of CalyxOS and in the process I am looking for a substitute for Maps, after reviewing and testing some apps I have marked as best for me Magic Earth and OSMAnd.
The only thing I miss are the guides from Apple Maps, a place or app qhere I can organice locations, read and write reviews and see a history / timeline of locations
Anyone knows any? I have seen Foursquare os still active but privacy wise seems to be the worst; anyone knows any alternatives?
I use OSMAnd but it doesn’t have what you are looking. If you find an option of a good map with reviews that is privacy respectful please let me know.
For reviews, MapComplete now supports reviewing places on map.
I just learned about Private Maps by MapQuest. Seems promising, since MapQuest is owned by the same people who bought StartPage.com.
Wow! I actually think that this here is the best privacy-respecting map out there. Unfortunately it’s like a $5/month subscription, but they combine OSM + proprietary data and it’s extremely accurate in my city. Much more so than just OSM data.
