There are several companies which offer eSIMs which can be used in the EU. Silent.link seems to be one of the more popular ones (which is from the USA?).
As far as I know the IMSI consists of several parts which include a country specific value as well as one for the carrier itself. What are those values which silent.link or other carriers offering data Roaming use? Do these include a country code which is specifically for the USA?
I don’t know much about how carriers work, but I guess they need that info to process payments when the IMSI is from a carrier that’s not in the same country as the card being used. Do carriers exchange payment information in (nearly) realtime?
Does anyone know out of experience if those cards in “Roaming mode” stick out more than the local ones? Would it be better to avoid this situation with using a card from a local carrier?
