Data removal services in the EU/UK

Hi all,

A very quick question. Is there any benefit to citizens of the EU or UK to use one of the popular data removal services? From what I’ve seen they seem mainly to be targeted towards, and beneficial for, US citizens. I’m hesitant to try one to see for myself before I know if it’ll actually be useful, since I don’t want to give a service my personal data only to realise the service is of no use to me.

In general, EU citizens are less affected by data brokers compared to US citizens due to the stricter data protection laws in the EU. You should search for your own name on major search engines to check if your data is publicly available. The number of data brokers operating within the EU is quite limited, so if you find only a few results, you may delete them manually.
