CV Resume makers

Are there any good CV Resume makers that aren’t privacy invasive?

.ods/.xlsx templates? Office suites usually have some included

Was gonna say this, best bet is using a template that is either included with your word processor of choice or one that you can find online. There are templates for systems like LaTex, but that requires some more work to get going for most people and isn’t as intuitive imo.

Use a LaTeX template, you can find many online. I followed this tutorial to make my own, it may or may not fit your needs: How to Write a Minimalistic CV in LaTeX: Step-by-step Guide - LaTeX-Tutorial.com

I’ll put a direct link to the privacy policy of the free and open-source Reactive Resume builder. I did not use it myself before, but I think it’s your best bet.

From the privacy policy:

Data Retention

We retain your personal data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you do not use your account for 6 months, your personal information is automatically deleted from our servers. You may also delete your data at any time via the user dashboard.

Third-Party Disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties, ensuring your data is used exclusively for the purposes stated in this privacy policy.

you can also use a temp email for signing up or selfhost it.

You can find other open source resume builders but with only 1-2 templates.

I have always used a template, there are plenty free one’s available if you look around. The best free resource I often fall back on and recommend is from Microsoft.
Since these are .docx, I use OnlyOffice to edit them for best compatibility/easy of use on linux personally.
