Just before we begin, I would like to clarify that I have no conflict of interest with this platform. I am a French person who took out a one-year subscription to Incogni in 2024 to clean my broker data. I was not completely satisfied for some reasons:
- not enough brokers for the asking price
- pretty bad interface
- requests blocked
- price too expensive for renewal
- Surfshark/NordVPN takes care of it…
I have long looked for a European product that would solve these problems, with marketing focused on privacy that was true (i.e. a good Privacy Policy and Terms of Service). Finally, I discovered CrabClear(.com): I read their conditions, I read their promises, I found out about their other products, about the company that creates it, who is behind it, etc. Their service is very recent, almost unknown. I ended up taking a one-year subscription for €79 (I’m ready to show the invoice to a moderator to prove my good faith if necessary).
I will not present the product in detail, because that is not my role and it is not interesting. I will just say that at the moment everything that is displayed in the marketing seems true to me.
I know that these tools are sometimes contested because they are considered too expensive, ineffective or even dangerous. I sometimes hear that “the least bad” is Incogni, and that’s why I chose it a year ago. For my part, I think that these services were good to me, but I know that even if I had some material proof of interest, part of my opinion may come from a confirmation bias for this type of product.
I am interested to know your opinions on these services, to know if you have additional information on CrabClear and simply to open the conversation on this platform and this subject so that potential future consumers have more resources than what I had to make their choice.
