A smallish Android RSS reader for Feedbin, FreshRSS, Miniflux, and local feeds.
Why I think this tool should be added
Currently there is only one recommended RSS reader for Android. I think it would be nice to provide users at least one other option that doesn’t rely on self-hosting.
Its definitely still being developed as you can see from the roadmap.
But… I don’t see any reason to think the project is unstable. I am not the dev or an expert in code, so all I can do is answer from my own experience, which is the app has worked as expected and it was easy to transition my feed on Feeder. My use case only includes using local feeds.
I would say its nearly 100% stable. Funnily enough, I found this post through Capy Reader. I love using my RSS reader for all the forums I participate and read. Just add the page and through Capy you can open it in a browser window so I am already logged in to comment (user can select which feeds operate this way while others can be read within the app).
I support adding this app to the recommended apps. I use Rethink DNS so I can track all of the connections this app makes to the internet and it only makes connections to the feeds I deliberately add to the app. Additionally, rss feeds are essentially minimal versions of articles with no ads and no scripts so I consider it highly privacy oriented.
Glad to see others enjoy this RSS reader as well. My only issue has been its not whitelisted by xcancel but I have made a whitelist request. Turns out only Feedly, Inoreader, and Zapier are.
I could also just switch to a different nitter instance if need be.
